About Us

District 7, a unit of United States Power Squadrons®, was founded in 1937.

Currently, we have 12 squadrons covering portions of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. USPS® is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable by teaching classes in seamanship, navigation and related subjects.

Each squadron's activities involve the three primary objectives of USPS and D/7: community service, continuing education, and enjoying the friendship and camaraderie of our fellow members.

Activities of our squadrons are many and varied. They include on the water rendezvous and cruises; dinner meetings and picnics; district and national conferences; interesting programs: visiting with other boaters. Refer to our calendar and photo gallery pages for more information.

About USPS

Our Promise

We are more than your connection to the water.

We are your source for unsurpassed education, community service and your access to a membership built by boaters, for boaters.

For more than a century we’ve been steadfast in the belief that an educated boater is a better boater, a safer boater.

We’ve kept our promise to continue learning, teaching, laughing and helping our fellow members enjoy boating.

We look forward to helping you build a lifetime of memories and welcome you to a membership that delivers beyond boating.
